She was born on the 29th of March, 1985 in Roswell New Mexico. Gerina Michel Mendoza is her birthname. Gerina Stevenson is a native of Mexico to Mexican parents Alan Stevenson and Rita Stevenson. Her heritage is Mexican-American and is American through citizenship. She has always been an avid sportsperson. Gerina first began playing golf at fifteen years old. Gerina attended Goddard High School. In high school, she took home her first prize at the New Mexico golf state tournament. The volleyball abilities of her were acknowledged at the national stage. Her first college was the University of Texas. During the senior years of her career, she won each tournament where she played. In her undergraduate years she won the titles as Conference USA Female Athlete and Conference USA Individual Player of the Years.
